Remove the bandage 2-4 hours after the procedure, or overnight if necessary, (your artist will let you know) and clean your tattoo with just your fingers. Mild soap and water, PAT dry with a clean towel. Do not rub! Avoid exposing your new tattoo to the sun for prolonged periods of time for the first few weeks. Do not submerge your tattoo in water for at least two weeks or until the tattoo is completely healed. Running water is fine. Do not put anything on your tattoo for the first 2-3 days. Let it heal naturally. After the tattoo starts to dry out, put on white fragrance free lotion/aquaphor 5-10 times a day. Continue with lotion until the flaking stops.

Normal Healing:

Swollen, tender, slight redness, minimal bleeding or bruising

flaky, crusty top layer forms and falls off gradually

Not Normal Healing:

Excessive redness, tenderness or swelling (all new tattoos will experience all of these for the first few days). Excessive bleeding or bruising yellow or green discharge. Call a healthcare professional if there are signs of infection.

Please call or email the shop if you have concerns or questions while your tattoo heals up.
